Fashion Friday: Enjoying the sun and trying not to be lazy

Wore this when i went to one of the job interviews that's been attended in the last few months. It was for a watch shop in town and it was the best interview i ever had and my interviewer was really nice and positive. It was very sad not getting that job but i felt very fortunate. Was told at it that i was picked along with 25 other people out of 2000 Cv's!

Just shows how bad the job situation is if 2000 people are applying for a 16 hour job that's minimum wage.

As far as i know i have been accepted for another job which is lovely after 2 years of looking for one. I kid you not!
Im waiting on hearing back about a start date.
(please dont change your mind job gods!)

Also im loving the weather here i enjoy sunshine so much makes me want to frollic, have picnics, trips the beach, walks in the forests in pretty frocks oh my yes! I hope everyone else is enjoying the nice weather in the UK for a change too!

My fashion item this week is of a scarf i got the other day. I seem to be collecting most items with animals and nature on them especially deers! I do so want a satchel as well but i feel guilty about buying things for myself even how tempting all the animal clothes are now!

On a random note me and some family members saw this in the sky last night. It was moving quite fast and had a bright light in the middle that looked like fire and the fire went out and it started to move downwards somewhere. I know it looks like a black dot in the piccy but it was a dark sphere looking thing which was ood. I assume it was a hot air balloon or a latern that lost its way.
(looks like a dot on paper lol it was dark at the time)

What do you guys think?

Movie, Music, and Muse Monday: Selkie

I know most of the Muse mondays have been based on computer games but i would also like to show beautiful and inspiring muses in my world. So for this week i have choosen the theme of the Selkie!

If you like Celtic Myth your in for a treat lets make a splash!

Wiki tells us
Selkies (also known as silkies or selchies) are mythological shapeshifting creatures that are found in Faroese, Icelandic, Irish, and Scottish Folklore.
Selkies are seals that can shed their skin to become humans. The legend apparently originated on the Orkney Shetland islands, where selch or selk(ie) is the Scots word for seal (from Old English seolh).

Heres some facts!

*Selkies are able to become human by taking off their seal skins, and can return to seal form by putting them back on.

*Stories concerning selkies are generally romantic tragedies. Sometimes the human will not know that their lover is a selkie, and wakes to find them gone. Other times the human will hide the selkie's skin, thus preventing them from returning to seal form.

* A selkie can only make contact with one particular human for a short amount of time before they must return to the sea. Examples of such stories are the ballad, The Great Silkie of Sule Skerry, the movie The Secret of Roan Inish and Ondine.

*Male selkies are very handsome in their human form, and have great seduction powers over human women. They typically seek those who are dissatisfied with their romantic life. This includes married women waiting for their fishermen husbands. If a woman wishes to make contact with a selkie male, she has to go to a beach and shed seven tears into the sea. The offspring of a union between a human and a selkie have webbed fingers and toes as a mark of their origin.

*If a man steals a female selkie's skin, she is in his power, to an extent, and she is forced to become his wife — a regional variant on the motif of the swan maiden, unusual in that the bride's animal form is usually a bird. Female selkies are said to make excellent wives, but because their true home is the sea, they will often be seen gazing longingly at the ocean. If she finds her skin again, she will immediately return to her true home, and sometimes to her selkie husband, in the sea.

Oh how beautiful and romantic Selkie ways and stories seem i love celtic myth a lot and im leanring about it on my own of my countrys own fairy tales. If you like selkies to or are interested in learning more their is many references to them in art, books, film and music.

I'll leave you with the trailer of Ondine, saw it recently and love it, its a great and beautiful grungey film of a modern fairy tale.

Movies, music and muse mondays: Tomb Raider

Hello for this week ive decided to dive into my nostalgia gaming and pick Tomb Raider since ive been playing all the old and some of the new games!

Lets take a look!

Wiki tells us:
Tomb Raider is a media franchise consisting of video games, comic books, novels, theme park rides, and movies, centring around the adventures of the fictional British archaeologist Lara Croft. Since the release of the original Tomb Raider in 1996, the series developed into a lucrative franchise of related media, and Lara went on to become a major icon of the virtual gaming industry. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised Lara Croft as the "Most Successful Human Virtual Game Heroine" in 2006. The first six games in the series were developed by Core Design, whilst Crystal Dynamics developed the latest four; their fifth game is currently in production. Two movies - Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life - have been produced starring American actress Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, the first of which is still the highest-grossing film adapation of a video game ever released, both in the U.S. and worldwide.
Heres some facts!

*The central character in Tomb Raider is the British archaeologist Lara Croft, a female adventurer in search of ancient relics used by Thor, the God of Thunder, King Arthur and many others. Lara was created by one-time Core designer Toby Gard, and grew out of a number of ideas discarded in early concepts.

*Over the course of the series, her 3D model has undergone gradual graphical improvements, as well as enlarged (and later reduced) breast size.

*American film star Angelina Jolie portrayed Lara Croft in two feature-length Tomb Raider films, which together grossed nearly US$500 million worldwide, making her role as Lara the most well-known and widely-seen of any other.

*Originally, the Tomb Raider Games were developed by Core Design, and a game was released annually. However, the pressure grew so much on the team that they decided to kill Lara Croft off at the end of the fourth game. Still, a fifth game was released, which consisted of a series of flashbacks with Lara Croft's funeral serving as framing story for the various tales. The sixth instalment Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness revived the character and was to start a trilogy.

*Nearly fifteen years after the release of the original game, Lara is still one of the most famous and recognizable video game characters in the history of the medium. The debate over whether she is an icon of female empowerment or a vessel for male titilation has existed for as long as she has, but the huge impact she has had on both gaming and popular culture in general can't be denied.

I'll leave you with this, its a lets play of tomb raider 3 with a friend of mine. You should add him on YouTube if you like Lets plays! Please excuse the awful swearing and sillyness were Scottish and you can hear my awful voice!

I dunno whats wrong with me sometimes...

Fashion Friday: When in Dunkeld and harry potter

Wore this to Dunkeld when i dropped off my prints *tear* lol and saw the beatrix potter exhibition eeeeeee! made me so happy i should post my adventure their sometime. I should do a lot of things sometimes!

Decided to paint my nails like ladybugs for fun i usually dont do anything like this and its not great but its a first attempt. Never paint my hand nails any different colours cause im always concerned it would effect my image when i go to job interviews. But i dont seem to be getting any jobs anyway so what the hell! wheeeeee i am woman!

I saw the last harry potter film as a midnight showing last night was so epic, I cried so much and felt so gripped by the whole movie. Its weird having one of the biggest franchises in this decade end in a way and im not even a very big harry potter fan. But i do take any chance to dress up and have fun.

Not even got the right costume but don't care i had my fun and what a weird way to leave this post...HA!

Working and Wishing on Art Wedensday : Fruits of nature

~Fruits of Nature ~

Water colour
Gold pen
Pigment white pen

Been thinking a lot about nature and how we use and abuse it as humans. Also how we take so much from nature for everything especially self image and beauty.

How we use beauty products made from organic materials or animals and then in a cycle the animals are used for the testing of such products.
Its common and everyone wants to be beautiful but nature does that without vanity or proving self worth.

I also tried some new water color techniques in this piece after reading up on them.

And shamelessly took inspiration from framed Art Nouveau pieces which i think are just lovely.

Also used some references to get plants and animals right.

this might become a series revolving around this theme...

Movie, Music, and Muse Monday: Hannibal Lecter

Hello there! For this Monday's Muse I have decided to pick the fictional Serial Killer Hannibal Lecter after watching all the movies involved with them.
Check out the most famous non real Serial Killer.

Wiki tells us
"Hannibal Lecter M.D. is a fictional character in a series of horror novels by Thomas Harris and in the films adapted from them.
Lecter was introduced in the 1981 thriller novel Red Dragon as a brilliant psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer. The novel and its sequel, The Silence of the Lambs (1988), feature Lecter as one of two primary antagonists. In the third novel, Hannibal (1999), Lecter becomes the main character. His role as protagonistanti-hero occurs in the fourth novel, Hannibal Rising (2006), which explores his childhood and development into a serial killer. and
The first film adapted from the Harris novels was Manhunter, based on Red Dragon, features Brian Cox as Lecter, spelled "Lecktor". In 2002, a second adaptation of Red Dragon was made under the original title, featuring Anthony Hopkins, who had played Lecter in the motion pictures The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal."

Heres some facts!

*Anthony Hopkins who potrays and makes Hannibal Lecter famous in the film adaptions has won an Academy Award for his move role in Silence of the Lambs.

*Hannibal Lector is first introduced to us in the novel Red Dragon 1981 and the film adaption of Red Dragons main character Francis Dolarhyde is played by the same actor who is Voldemort.

* Hannibal Lecter is said by the creator Thomas Harris to be based of an actual Serial killer and Cannibal William Coyne.

*Considering Lecter is a fictional serial killer the audience cant be helped but be captured by Hopkins performance and in most cases rooting for the killer.

*The human psyche cant help but be captivated by the dark side of what humans are capible of and our want to understand that. But this saids a lot about society and how serial killers are seen like movie stars.

I'll leave you with this little something!

Aha! LOL!
